Construction of the Culture and Tourist Centre in Opatija started
Mayor of Opatija, Mr Ivo Dujmic opened the construction works on one of the key capital investments (5.15 Mil €) of the City of Opatija, the Culture and Tourist Centre. Located in the centre of Opatija, the CTC will be used for public, commercial and social purposes. The building will include the main hall on the first floor, a divisible hall on the ground floor, and a multi-purpose basement floor. The number of seats in the hall will be 500. Expected opening of the CTC is by the end of 2016.
MIDAS General Assembly
From May 14th to 17th, 2015 Opatija will host General Assembly of MIDAS, the European Association of Daily Newspapers in Minority and Regional Languages. In this occasion about 30 journalists from Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Croatia will visit Opatija. General Assembly will be held on Friday, May 15th in Villa Antonio, headquaters of the Italian Community of Opatija. After GA, participants will have sightseeing tour of Opatija.
During gala dinner in Hotel Milenij prize giving ceremony will be held to award winners of the Otto von Habsburg Prize and the MIDAS Prize for Journalism. The Otto von Habsburg Prize is awarded to journalists of print and electronic media in Europe who have demonstrated a particular dedication to the reporting of minority protection and cultural diversity issues within the context of the European Integration process. The Prize will be presented by a member of the family of Otto von Habsburg.
International Charter Expo
Jadranski skiperi Ltd organizes the first INTERNATIONAL CHARTER EXPO 2015 – ICE’15 which will take place at the newly built multi-functional Marino Cvetkovic sports hall in Opatija from 6th until 8th of February 2015. The expo is supported by Ministry of Tourism of Republic of Croatia and Croatian Chamber of Economy.
ICE’15 is a unique expo in the world which brings together charter companies, brokers, booking systems and many other suppliers for yacht charter industry from all over the world. The main purpose of the expo is gathering all the relevant stakeholders of yacht charter industry on one place where they can start new cooperations or improve existing ones. The expo is open exclusively for business visitors, representatives of state, public institutions and media.
100 charter companies are expected as well as 200 charter agencies from all over the world. Apart from charter companies and brokers, on the expo many suppliers relevant for yacht charter industry will exhibit.
